19. PortugalSong: Em Nome Do Amor Rui Andrade was born in 31st December 1984, and started his artistic journey at the age of 8, competing in various song festivals around the country. It was also at the age of 8 that Rui started his musical education in chant organ and piano. Later he started to compete in various TV shows such as 'Reis da Música Nacional', 'Portugal a cantar', and the Portuguese version of the talent show Pop Idols, 'Idolos'. Recently in March 2011 he competed for the first time at Festival da Canção with the song 'Em nome do amor, getting a 3rd place out of 12 participants. Rui Andrade is also well known for his participations as an actor and singer for various musical theaters such as 'Amália, uma estranha forma de vida', 'Jesus Cristo Superstar', 'Música no Coração' 'West Side Story', 'Piaf' and 'Mama Mia' among others. He also acted in a very famous Portuguese TV soap opera for teenagers called 'Morangos com Açúcar'. |
